Accounting Specialist
ProGnosis Biotech S.A., a fast-growing biotechnology company, is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join its Finance & Accounting team.
the role
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial records, reconciliations, proper documentation and effective cooperation with internal departments and external accounting partners.
Responsibilities
- Record and review purchase, sales and expense transactions in the ERP/accounting system.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Monitor customer and supplier balances, collections and outstanding items.
- Support invoice issuance and follow up on customer payments in cooperation with the Sales team.
- Provide accurate information for VAT, withholding taxes and other accounting and tax-related processes in cooperation with the external accountant.
- Support inventory reconciliations in cooperation with Procurement and Production.
- Support external audits and accounting reviews when required.
- Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Procurement, Production, Logistics and HR on accounting and financial matters.
- Contribute to the improvement and standardization of accounting procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in an accounting or assistant accountant position, ideally within a company maintaining double-entry / Category C books.
- Good understanding of accounting entries, invoices, VAT and bank reconciliations.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems; knowledge of Pylon ERP will be considered a strong advantage.
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of additional languages such as Italian, French or Spanish will be considered an asset.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, ISO documentation or audit support will also be considered an advantage.
