Bio-Shield DON 5 and Bio-Shield Fumonisin 5: USDA/FGIS approved!

Bio-Shield DON 5 and Bio-Shield Fumonisin 5: USDA/FGIS approved!

We are pleased to announce that Bio-Shield DON 5 and Bio-Shield Fumonisin 5 have received official approval from the USDA/FGIS (United States Department of Agriculture/Federal Grain Inspection Service) for accurately measuring Deoxynivalenol and Fumonisin levels, respectively, in various agricultural products, including grains, nuts, cereals, and other commodities.

Specifically, our products can quantitatively determine the presence of Deoxynivalenol and Fumonisin in a wide range of agricultural items, including corn (dent or field corn, corn meal, corn flour, cracked corn, corn grits or polenta, and corn screenings), barley (including malting barley with hull, malted barley, malted barley flour, hulled barley, and hulless barley), buckwheat, corn germ, corn starch, corn/soy blend, sweet corn, distillers dried grain with solubles, oats (whole oats with hull), rapeseed, brown rice, milled rice (including brewer’s rice and glutinous rice), rough rice, rye (rye berries, whole grain rye flour, rye meal, cracked rye, and rye chops), white rye flour, wheat (whole grain wheat flour, wheat middlings, wheat red dog flour 2nd clear, and wheat screenings), white wheat flour, sorghum, and soybean (whole soybean and full-fat soy flour).

This represents a significant achievement for our company and underscores our commitment to delivering secure and efficient solutions to the food and feed industry.

Bio-Shield DON 5 has undergone rigorous evaluation and has been found to fully comply with USDA/FGIS standards for quantifying Deoxynivalenol in grains, nuts, cereals, and other commodities, as confirmed by Certificate of Conformance No. FGIS 2023-178. Similarly, Bio-Shield Fumonisin 5 meets all USDA/FGIS requirements for accurately quantifying Fumonisin in the aforementioned commodities, as validated by Certificate of Conformance No. FGIS 2023-179.

Deoxynivalenol (DON) and Fumonisin are two mycotoxins that pose a significant threat to grains such as corn, barley, wheat, oats, and more. These toxins, produced by fungi, can contaminate our food and feed supplies, potentially leading to severe health issues in both humans and animals. Therefore, it is crucial to monitor and control these toxin levels in food and agricultural products.

Both Bio-Shield DON 5 and Bio-Shield Fumonisin 5 provide quick, reliable, and accurate results, ensuring the safety and quality of the food supply.

The USDA/FGIS approval serves as a strong validation of the effectiveness of our products in detecting these harmful toxins. At Prognosis Biotech, we are dedicated to developing safe and effective solutions for the food industry. Stay tuned for further updates.
