ProGnosis Biotech contributed to the regional dialogue on smarter, preventive food safety practices, reinforcing the role of reliable diagnostic technologies in Kenya’s cereals and grain milling sector.
ProGnosis Biotech successfully participated in the CMA Annual Technical Conference 2026 in Nairobi, an important industry platform organised by the Cereal Millers Association, bringing together key stakeholders from across Kenya’s cereals and grain milling value chain.
Guided by the theme “Choose Safe, Choose Smart,” this year’s conference focused on two priorities shaping the future of the sector: food safety and operational efficiency. The discussions emphasised the need for smarter quality control, faster decision-making and proactive risk management across the cereals industry.
ProGnosis Biotech’s participation went beyond exhibition presence. The company contributed actively to discussions with millers, laboratories, technical experts and decision-makers on how the cereals industry can strengthen preventive quality control and respond more effectively to evolving food safety demands. With cereals playing a fundamental role in daily nutrition and food security, ProGnosis Biotech highlighted the importance of reliable, accessible diagnostic technologies that enable earlier detection, faster evidence-based decisions and stronger operational control across the value chain.
The CMA Annual Technical Conference served as a high-impact platform for ProGnosis Biotech to strengthen its engagement with the Kenyan and East African cereals industry, gain deeper insight into local priorities and contribute its expertise to the wider conversation around proactive quality control in a rapidly evolving food safety environment.
“The ‘Choose Safe, Choose Smart’ theme is more than a statement. It reflects a clear shift in industry priorities,” said Zachary Maina, Sales Representative East Africa at ProGnosis Biotech. “Reliable testing is no longer optional. It is a foundational tool that enables millers to operate with greater confidence and respond faster to food safety challenge.”
The value of this contribution was also recognised by the Cereal Millers Association. In its appreciation letter to ProGnosis Biotech, CMA noted that the company’s participation “helped create a vibrant and impactful platform for the industry.” This acknowledgment reflects the importance of strong industry collaboration in advancing food safety, technical knowledge and operational excellence across the chain.
Following the event, ProGnosis Biotech will continue working with the Cereal Millers Association to support the adoption of preventive quality control practices and contribute to the development of stronger, more resilient food safety systems.
