Mr. Georgios Papageorgiou, CFO of ProGnosis Biotech SA, received the award of the “Best Biotechnology Product Award” for 2018 on the 28th of April 2018, in Athens, for one of the most revolutionary products presented within the past 18 months.
Rapid Test Goat is the complementary lateral-flow test of Rapid Test Cow, which are immunochromatographic strips used to detect Goat milk in Sheep milk, while RT Cow detects cow milk in goat and sheep milk.
Unprecedented, for lateral-flow products, stability and extremely low limits of quantification are the core characteristics of these Rapid Tests. Currently it is marketed in all countries (12 countries worldwide) which produce different types of milk and wish to produce unadulterated final products.

2nd AEOS-Ruminantia Convention
A few days ago, in Rome, during the 2nd AEOS-Ruminantia Convention, ProGnosis presented an augmented version of “Milk & Feed – Rapid Aflatoxin Analysis”.
As one of the four sponsors of the convention, ProGnosis had its own booth where it displayed its products and caught the attention of a number of visitors, Veterinary Services (Istituti Zooprofilattici), Parmalat, among others.
The 3rd Serbian Dairy Conference, organized by the Serbian Dairy Association and Austrian Agricultural Cluster, took place on the 28th of November at the Holiday Inn Belgrade. People from different Austrian companies as well as the leading Serbian Dairy, Imlek, presented solutions in milk production and quality control.
ProGnosis was there, presenting the Symmetric M1 Lateral-flow test and discussing a matter which has been high in the agenda of the Serbian Ministry of Health: Aflatoxins in corn.
On the 24th of October, ProGnosis Biotech and its partner in Croatia, Biomedica Gruppe, organized a workshop on Mycotoxins and testing methods in Zagreb, Croatia.
Laboratory technicians and Quality Assurance Analysts from the whole range of Croatian food industries attended the workshop. Registrations and attendance were higher than expected and comments were extremely positive, even by attendants who currently have experience on Mycotoxins.
Theory and practice: a long discussion on statistics and terms was followed by live experiments in ELISA and Lateral-flow form.

During the last ARA Convegno (Convention of Regional Breeders’s Associations) which took place in Padenghe sul Garda, Lombardia, ProGnosis Biotech presented its own approach on sample preparation of milk derivatives for ELISA testing.
ProGnosis’s speaker and Chief Researcher, Mr. Sotirios Athanasiou, got into the spotlight by presenting, in Italian, the innovative products able to trace Aflatoxin M1 not only in milk and milk powder, but also in yogurt, yogurt drinks and above all, cheese.
Following exceptional performance in AIA Ring Tests last October, ProGnosis’s R&D Department was invited to the highly-esteemed Convention of all ARA, in order to present solutions to a rising issue: Aflatoxin M1 detection in Cheese (especially Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano).

The conference aimed to enhance the level of operation and management of laboratory and self-control of food enterprises to ensure the scientific nature and accuracy of laboratory data.

Prognosis had attend IAFP's European symposium on Food Safety. IAFP's European symposium has been shaping the future of food safety by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas with colleagues from across Europe working in industry, government and academia. The Symposium is an excellent forum to gain knowledge about the latest developments and techniques in food science and safety.
The company had presented 3 posters involving innovating new methods for food safety.
Analytica 2016, Munich Germany
Prognosis Biotech had attented Analytica 2016 as exhibitor.
During the days (May 10 to 13), a total of 1,244 exhibitors from 40 countries presented their product innovations including a number of world premieres to some 35,000 visitors at analytica.
